DataBox wins Duke's Choice 2009 Award

Dallas, TX - June 1, 2009 - today, ReportMill Software's new DataBox "Instant Application Builder" was awarded the Duke's Choice award at the JavaOne 2009 conference in San Francisco. This prestigious award was given in recognition of DataBox's innovation in the area of "Technology for Developer Solutions". Even in its current preview release, DataBox has already shown ground-breaking features to allow even beginning developers to build and deploy applications in minutes:

  • Instantly create a new application site as a database, flat-file or FTP site
  • Instantly create rich pages, forms and reports with visual designer
  • Instantly create data tables and populate them with sample data
  • Instantly bind data to application components
  • One-click applet deployment

"DataBox shows the same quality and innovation that we've seen with ReportMill and their other developer tools. The ease of use is remarkable and may help bring more developers to Java client.", said James Gosling, Sun CTO and known as the father of the Java programming language.

"Our goal with DataBox is to create a data application builder so easy to use, your neighbor can build custom rich web applications in minutes", said Jeff Martin, CEO, ReportMill. "Our preview release already delivers on this - and I think the Duke's Choice award recognized this."
